Peter Krausz
From April 2nd 1985 to April 27th 1985
Dessins / Installations

“(…) Peter Krausz will be painting in the Optica gallery after his one-man show has been taken down. In fact, he’ll be painting the gallery itself, restoring the walls to their pristine whitewashed condition for the next exhibitor because Krausz has used the walls and drawn upon them as part of his current display, open for public viewing at 3981 St-Laurent Blvd., suite 501, from noon to 5 p.m. daily until April 27th.

The eight works that are on show in the large loft-like gallery are drawn, painted, sculpted and cast from natural materials such as tar, lead, wood, graphite, steel, clay and even fire with a memorial candle burning within a wooden stump the top of which is carved like a flame yet remains unconsumed like Moses’ burning bush.

Well-known in the community as curator of exhibitions at the Saidye Bronfman Centre and as a Concordia University art professor, Krausz can now be seen at work in his favourite milieu as a practicing artist (…)”
